Winter on the Wasatch Front

The Wasatch Front is a beautiful destination for downhill or cross country skiing and winter hiking. Our staff and students are offered the opportunity each week of the winter to get out into the world class skiing available across the Wasatch Front.

Some of our students enjoy working for the ski industry in Ogden. The ski resorts are a great way to get into the social atmosphere of the community and meet people with similar interests. Socializing is sometimes difficult, especially under such straining circumstances we have all endured over the past two years. Getting outdoors is a great opportunity to socialize safely.

Ogden Nordic Park offers cross country routes for students who are not into downhill. The Nordic Park has several different routes conducive to varied experience levels. They rent equipment, including bikes with fat tires to plow through the snow.

If skiing doesn't fit for our students, weekend staff also offer hikes along the Bonneville Shoreline trail system. Waterfall Canyon is a year round destination for hikers. Climbers are able to take advantage of the colder temperatures this year to make their way up the frozen ice.

Our therapists also use the snow activities to engage in experiential therapy with their clients. Nature is a great way to connect, process, and lighten the load of human beings in general. The natural world around us in her Ogden offers many possibilities of connecting with and healing through nature all year round.
