Our approach

For young adults who want more out of life

Echo Springs Utah is built on the success of one of the longest running and most experienced young adult transitional program in the United States.

Our curriculum is born out of more than 25 years of development, fine-tuning, and successful implementation at our Echo Springs Idaho location.

Essentials

Our core curriculum provides education and tools for success in academia, personal relationships, social skills, nutrition, mindfulness, financial literacy, emotional awareness, and other essential life skills.
Mastering these skills is an ongoing, evolving process  that we support  well beyond the classroom environment.
On Sundays, students can count on guided outdoor activities and group dinner outings as means of social and interpersonal interaction, with the added benefit of fitness and exposure to the natural world around us.

As we assist our students on their path to independence, we also help them gain part-time employment. We have helped our students in obtaining jobs at various local businesses including Deseret Industries, Utah School for the Deaf and Blind, Savers, Slackwater, the I.R.S, and many more.

Our students have access to countless extracurricular opportunities available on the Weber State Campus and throughout the broader Ogden community.
We utilize the rich community around Echo Springs Utah as we work with our students to create a balanced and productive lifestyle that they are proud of.
Here is a sampling of some of the local resources and recreational opportunities we take advantage of: The Front Climbing Gym, The Artisan Collective, Ogden Twilight Music Festival, Wiseguys Comedy Cafe, Gamers Asylum, EoS Fitness, Ogden Raptors Baseball, Snowbasin Ski Resort, Pineview Reservoir, and so much more.
This experience-building process is unique to each student.  The common end goals are cultivating and maintaining relationships, academic/vocational success, physical and mental well-being, and financial freedoms that lead to happy and healthy independence.

Independence

As our students gather momentum and employ the skills of self-monitoring and schedule management that we have taught them, we gradually reduce support to foster independence.  Reduce does not mean desist.
We continue to schedule mentor check-ins with students as we observe their ongoing progress. This allows us to identify any area that may need continued support; be it fitness, wellness goals, tutoring, employment, relationships, or just about anything else.
We are dedicated to serving our students in meeting their goals and we believe strongly in the power of a positive peer culture. Our students are always welcome to join group outings and community events, even after they are completely independent of our services.

Experience

In our client centered model, we tailor community service opportunities, experiential activities, optional weekend excursions, game nights, and cooking instruction to the population we serve. These activities are available to all students while they live in the Utah House and after they move on to independent living opportunities.
